Catching Sound Waves

Last week, year 4 started their topic of Sound. The children learnt why sounds are made and how certain ways of hearing, improves the ability to catch sound waves. They went outside in their pairs and listened to each other shouting across the playground; firstly standing with their arms by their side, then cupping their ears and finally, by using a cone to aid their hearing. They are now writing up their findings in order to see which was the most effective method across the class.
