Home Learning 13th July

Good morning Year 4,

I hope you’re all keeping safe and well.

The final week has arrived! Are you ready for the summer? Remember, whatever you do, stay safe and well.

Some of you are going in for a morning, I hope to see you all via Zoom!

PLEASE NOTE: There is no book exchange this week.

It is super important to keep your minds healthy and plugging into your Spellodrome and Times Table Rockstars is a good idea.

Don’t forget the BBC Bitesize website has lots of great lessons, videos and GAMES on all subjects- Geography, science, history, French etc.

Take a look.

There are no Maths and English tasks set for this week, as it is the final week. Instead, we are giving you these Maths and English activity booklets to complete. They have a variety of activities in them and are a good way to consolidate ideas in a fun way. The answer booklets are there too so you can check how you got on.

Writing

This week I would like you to choose something to write about.

It can be FICTION or NON-FICTION. You can choose what it is about.

If it is FICTION think about these things:

  • is it an adventure/action/fantasy/mythical or suspense story
  • only have a few characters
  • think about 5 parts – beginning, build up, problem, resolution, end
  • write in clear paragraphs
  • use a variety of sentences, check the punctuation and tense use

If it is NON-FICTION think about these things:

  • is it a non-chronological report/instructions/newspaper article/information page/guide
  • use clear facts and present it in the correct style (remember who is reading it)
  • use appropriate words related the the subject you are writing about
  • check you punctuation and tense use

If it helps, find a picture for ideas to go with your writing. I am really looking forward to reading these. Please email them to me when you are done.

Times Tables Check Update

It is great to see that some of you have completed the Times Tables Check!

If you are using the TT Rock Stars app, you might not have received an invite to take part in the check – this is a problem with the app.  Please log into the TT Rock Stars website so that you are able to take part in the Tables Check.

Remember, Sunday is the last day you can take part  in it.

Good luck and enjoy your weekend!

Unofficial Year 4 Times Tables Check

The time has come for our unofficial Year 4 Times Tables Check and for you to show off how much progress you have made in learning your tables this year.

Please log onto TT Rock Stars at any point from tomorrow (Thursday) until Sunday, 5th July, to take part.   You will be asked to do 2 Sound Check games and that is it – simple!

It would be fantastic if you are all able to take part and I know Mrs Calbreath, Mrs Sabir and I are looking forward to seeing your scores.
